Do you fancy something a little different to the usual Sunday walk, that will still be the perfect way to meet and get to know other people? How about a day trip to The Royal City of The Hague, where our guide will accompany and entertain you for the entire day?
We’ll met up at Centraal Station, and catch a train together to The Hague, home of the Dutch royal family. From there, we will go on a guided walk around the medieval centre, taking in some of the sites and discovering some other, lesser-known locations and stories from a guide who worked right at the heart of the city. We will see the exquisite Binnenhof and ancient Ridderzaal, the Royal Palace were the King and Queen live and work, the beautiful Lange Voorhout with its sculptures and the Hotel des Indes, amongst many other interesting sites.
After the walk we will stop for a bite to eat at a local cafe with some unique seating, before catching a tram to the delightful Madurodam, the miniature version of The Netherlands. At Madurodam we will be guided around the highlights (or as it is tiny, should that be lowlights?) of the Netherlands, and then there will be an hour for you to explore the tiny land further.
From there, we will catch a tram to Scheveningen, The Hague’s beautiful beach resort. Here we will have a guided tour along the seafront and discover the amazing fairytale sculptures of Tom Otterness. After which there will be time to grab a drink, have a chat or maybe explore a little further before catching the tram to return to The Hague, and then the train back to Amsterdam.
